In some ponds, the fishes were less than excited about us coming to feed them. In others, like this one in Nagasaki, they practically drowned each other trying to reach the most pebbles. And they did not look underfed or anything...
Hi guys!
It's been raining here in Taipei so everyone's in a bit of a tetchy mood. But nothing a fun blog post with some pretty pictures can't change! I see we haven't really wrapped up our last week in Japan so I shall remedy that right now.
Nagasaki and Kagoshima were a bit drab in terms of weather (I guess that's the "autumn" thing everyone talks about?!) but of course we had fun anyway.
FISHES!!!Such a pretty train. Not sure why Mami and Papi kept snickering at it.[If we had gotten 100 Yen for every picture someone took of our kids, we could have had a very lovely meal every other week...]What should I do? Smile? Take a picture back? Someone, please help!
In Kagoshima, the most southern city in Japan and the end of the Shinkansen line, we went to see Sakurajima, the volcano that lies in the bay before the city. It's usually really active (over 700 eruptions last year) but for some reason this year it has been very quiet. Maybe it's tired of spitting up so much. I know what that's like.
I think secretly everyone on the ferry hoped the volcano would spit just a tiny smoke plume to make their pictures even better. Alas, no such luck.A whole dinosaur park all to ourselves!Come here you big kitty!
The dinosaur park was at the top of a steep road but it was so worth the climb.
Volcano, dinosaurs and a giant slide. WHY AREN'T THERE MORE PEOPLE IN THIS SMALL PIECE OF HEAVEN?!?! (Not that I'm complaining, it was lovely having the whole park to ourselves...)
The aquarium was pretty neat too.
Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...A nudibranch hotel. I'd never seen nudibranchs before but apparently they live in hotels, just like we do sometimes. The ocean is a funny place.A pink nudibranch in his room.
And then it was already our last night in Japan. Where did the time go?!
Best dinner ever. Hands down. They made the sushi right in front of us and we could just ask the chef for whatever we wanted! Amazing.Did you see the guy hiding behind the screen? Shh, don't talk SmallPaw. He can't see us here...
As I mentioned, now we're in Taipei where the weather is a bit dismal. But we've already seen a bit of the city anyway and tomorrow we're going to the zoo to see panda bears! Oh boy, that's going to be great...
