Happy Halloween

Catering blatantly stole this from the Kitayama Halloween website. No integrity anymore nowadays...

Dear reader,

I've heard there are people out there who don't care about Halloween but if you're one of those people then we probably wouldn't like each other. Because that means you don't like dressing up or ghosts or worst of all, candy. So I'm just going to assume you all love Halloween at least half as much as I do.

And of course there's Halloween here in Japan. (Thank god because I've been bothering the authorities about this for the past two months and they would have been in some serious trouble if there had been no Halloween here.)

It took me a while to come up with the perfect costume but in the end I decided on Alice in Wonderland because that's what Transportation is reading to me at night right now.

Can we get on with the show now?

They had a whole Halloween festival in Kitayama with pumpkin carving, a parade and a market.

Carving a pumpkin is harder than it looks when they don't let you touch the knife.
BabyPaw got to help hollowing out the pumpkin with a spoon.
There were a lot of Marios and Luigis around but no Princess Peach sadly.
BabyPaw was supposed to be the Cheshire Cat to my Alice but since he takes off anything you put on his head and doesn't sit still long enough to have his face painted, he's just grey and stripy. Imagine the tail. At least the smile is there though.

So many Alices down there. And spot the sushi family!

Because it was the weekend they had two full days of fun at the festival. Really it was just the same stuff all over again but I still made the authorities go back on the second day. This time by bike, so everyone was happy.

Let's go back to the party.
Found my mock turtle! Just sitting here in the river, what a coincidence.

Dinner was special Halloween fare, of course.

Pancake pizza with ghost mozzarella and bat ham.
Why yes, of course I'm eating with my Hello Kitty chopsticks.
Transportation's cat pumpkin and my worm. Obviously mine is far superior but don't tell him, he worked so hard on it.

I can't wait for Christmas. Let's hope I get to dress up again. Maybe a reindeer? Or an elf, ooh, an elf would be great. Lemme go talk to Catering about that. Bye!
