I don't care much for ice-cream but this place had the most delightful mirror.
Dear reader,
You will never believe where I spent last week: In BRAZIL! A very good friend of the authorities got married and we spent the week getting her ready for the big day. (Not that she needed much help. Everything seemed to be quite under control when we got there. I approve of prepared people like that.)
What a wonderful place though. So many fruits I've never heard of! And music everywhere! Not to mention the lovely warm weather that was quite the welcome change from the cooler temperatures here in New York. Although it got VERY warm on some days which wasn't quite so welcome anymore. Especially at night… But I digress.
Sao Paulo is a very big city with so many big houses, it was impossible to tell where the city began and ended. But that also meant there was much to do every day so I never got bored. Let me show you:
First stop, flip flops for everyone. Even for Transportation who claimed that he can't walk in them. HA! Even babies can walk in these. Look at me!Aunt Julie had the coolest toys. And a cat!Uhm, nice kitty. There, there… (I understand this is art and all but I'd prefer my cats more cat-sized in the future, 'mkay?)Had to lead Transportation through a labyrinth. He would have been totally lost without me, as usual. Not many playgrounds in this place but you take what you can get. This building was pretty wild. We had a typical Brazilian lunch, feijoada, right underneath. They even had their traffic lights setup to look like the building! See what I mean when I said this place is cool?An introduction to Brazilian fruit. Today: hmm, can't remember the name of that one. Fruta do conde?Got myself some gentlemen bodyguards. You never know in these big cities.Graffiti!People planted orchids on the trees in the street. I love this place!
And finally, the big day came around and the whole reason why we flew 10 hours to get here. (Overnight in a freezing plane. But I'm not complaining. It was very comfy sleeping on Catering. Not sure if she felt the same.) In any case, the wedding! Wonderful place, beautiful dress, delicious food; the whole nine yards.
Waiting for the festivities to begin. Interminable…Transportation and his friend were in charge of confetti.Aww, aren't they adorable? And look at all that confetti! The cleaners moved in way too fast to clear all the confetti up. Luckily they missed a tiny corner. The desert table. Almost as tempting as the ceviche and tuna tartare. Almost.Nice touch: a play area with coloring books for the younger generation. Now stop taking pictures and let me get back to my colors!
So yes, a wonderful vacation and party. I wholeheartedly recommend you visit Brazil yourself, it's a fabulous place. Just remember to bring some creature comforts for the plane.
